Two fish found at the same location, both in breeding colors, sexual dimorphism or different species? In the scientific literature that I've read, there is a Current status: Valid as Zacco chengtui Kimura 1934., and described to have 7 vertical bars on the body, different from the congeneres.

  1. Here's my take on this....
    In reophile species like this - It's the strongest,most robust/virile male that gets to mate with the girls.... Fish one is going to lose out in the re creative race...
    First male also has way less nuptual tubercales than male 2.... Think male 2 is just further down the hormonal race to spread his genes....
